Become a member of the australian tile council victoria division and enjoy the benefits
It is the vision and mission of the Australian Ceramic Industry to collectively increase the profile of our industry by enhancing the image and welfare of sectors of our industry, including manufacturers, retailers and fixers. We aim to achieve this by advancing the ceramic best practice standards to the public at large. We also need to support each other at industry level.
One of the purposes of the ATC is to represent all sectors of the Ceramic Tile industry, including the end user, by pooling industry resources to educate the public at large of the benefits of our products as compared with other alternatives. Another is to promote and assist the three major sectors of the industry; manufacturers, suppliers and fixers. We seek to raise the standard of professional competence among those responsible for the manufacture, distribution, selection, specification, selling and/or fixing of ceramic tiles and related products.
It is our aim to act as an industry resource and reference centre which members can rely on in case of legal disputes and understand what the relevant or applicable legislation may be. The ATC hopes to achieve the settlement by arbitration under the provisions of the laws of the Commonwealth or the State as the case may be, of any disputes arising in connection with the industry or of the business of any members of the Council. To achieve this we are able to offer members access to technical support and expert witnesses where available and required.
One of the main objects of the ATC is to conduct publicity campaigns by any means as may from time to time be deemed necessary: this may take the form of circulars, papers, or other literary productions. The ATC is also seeking to liaise with the appropriate government bodies to protect our industry by registering as an industrial organisation of employers under the Australian Industrial Law and to represent members and the industry generally in industrial matters.
Member benefits also include subsidised training courses for Sales Consultants throughout the year. Said courses are of extreme benefit to all the industry as they ensure correct distribution at point of sale, thereby avoiding what can be litigious matters in future.
An annual Year Book is provided free of charge to all members. Importantly, the Year Book contains:
- Mission statements and long range plans
- Contact points for all States
- Division Committees
- Member Services
- Listing of members and contacts in each Division
- Catalogue of brands handled by members in each State
- Industry statistics – imports of and source of imports of ceramic tiles
As the ATC is a subscriber to Dunn and Bradstreet, our members are also entitled to the services of Dunn and Bradstreet without paying the annual subscription fee of $379.00. Thus if you are an individual subscriber, the cost of ATC membership, currently $400, almost covers this cost.
In addition to our famous award nights, golf days, and other industry building activities, open meetings are conducted throughout the year on topical subjects with guest speakers addressing members.
Finally, we include in our package a Code of Ethics for our members to adhere to in order to ensure the industry maintains a reputable position in the general building industry.
